Watermark Theatre season to include Chinese and French Surtitles!

The Watermark Theatre’s 2016 summer season will include 5 performances of The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams performed with Chinese and French surtitles to appeal to underserved theatre audiences. The local Chinese community as well as Chinese tourists will be able to watch this classic American drama, by one of the English speaking world’s greatest playwrights, by reading a simultaneous translation projected above the stage.

Sponsored by Respon International Group, the three Chinese surtitled performances will take place on the following dates:

August 3rd 7:30PM
August 11th 7:30PM
August 19th 7:30PM

North Rustico’s French speaking community was delighted last year when our bilingual production of Canada 300 was presented, and we want to continue to serve this very important audience. Two performances of The Glass Menagerie will be presented with French surtitles on:

July 29th 7:30PM
August 1st 7:30PM

“Our theatre is dedicated to providing the finest classical theatre on the Island to all of its visitors and residents and will continue to find ways to reach out to as many theatregoers as possible”. says Artistic Director Robert Tsonos.
