I Am Here I Am Wild

A physically and emotionally charged work, Sable Island embodies the relentless sway of the fierce ocean encircling the famous isle and the mystery, isolation and untamed spirit of the wild horses that live there.

Masterfully performed by a quintet of dancers, this powerful work features and an original musical score by Montréal composer Bertrand Chénier, who transforms the theatre into a windswept island, ocean floor and rocky shoreline, with a poetic palette of piano, bass, and mandolin.

Sable Island is at The Harbourfront Theatre March 11th at 7:30 PM.

“A WONDERFULLY PHYSICAL AND MOVING PERFORMANCE.” Halifax Dance Seen

“WHAT A TOUR DE FORCE! I WAS MOVED BEYOND WORDS. FIERCE. VISCERAL. WOW.” Mary Lou Martin, Chester Playhouse

Raised On TV

Raised on TV is what happens when television and theatre collide.

This multimedia theatrical event explores how television has changed and how television has changed us.

Through sketches and homage led by Island directors (including Samantha Bruce, Cameron Bennett-MacDonald, Rob MacDonald, Marieve McGregor, Greg Stapleton, Dave Stewart, and Rod Weatherbie), retro commercial breaks, and theme songs, Raised on TV wants to reveal the medium of television and everything it represents: the good, the bad, the tawdry, the commercial, the uplifting.

By show’s end, the audience will have laughed so hard their bellies hurt and they will leave the theatre feeling a giddy nostalgia…reflecting on the serious, silly, and absurd moments on television that influenced who we are today.

Raised on TV is at The Guild February 24 and 25 at 8 PM.

Bittergirl – The Musical

By Annabel Fitzsimmons, Alison Lawrence & Mary Francis Moore
Who knew getting dumped could be so much fun?

Bittergirl – the musical charts the breakups of three women (one single and dating, one co-habiting, one married with a child) and the painfully hilarious antics that ensue. With 60s girl group music punctuating the fast-paced and heartbreakingly funny narrative, Bittergirl – the musical is a sure-fire crowd pleaser.

It returns with new songs and scenes, and the same great soundtrack of doo-wop favourites, including I’m Gonna Make You Love Me, Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, I Will Survive, and Too Many Fish In The Sea.
