This March, Indian River Festival brings Digging Roots & William Prince presented with Confederation Bridge to Harbourfront Theatre.
In Digging Roots, the husband and wife team of Raven Kanatakta and ShoShona Kish trade lead vocals and fluidly compliment each other’s strengths while going from whispery intimacies to smokey wails. Firmly inhabiting roots and blues, their music is an eclectic tapestry of light and dark sound with sweet harmonies and melodic accompaniments of ukulele, banjo, mellotron and of course Raven’s bombastic resonator guitar.
William Prince is a JUNO AWARD winning storytelling singer/ songwriter from Peguis First Nation who sidesteps cliches to provoke thought and facilitate discovery. His baritone vocals pay tribute to his late father, and his genuine delivery acknowledges the hundreds of hours he’s spent on stage.
This concert is being presented to you by the Indian River Festival in partnership with the Mi’kmaq Confederacy of PEI, Lennox Island and Harbourfront Theatre.
The Indian River Festival appreciates the support for this concert from the Government of Canada, through the Department of Heritage and Canada 150, the Province of Prince Edward Island, the City of Summerside, RADARTS, the Atlantic Presenters Association and the Confederation Bridge.
