“Light is the thread we find woven through all the different celebrations of this season,” says Parent. The theme also ties into a holiday tradition in the Watermark’s community: North Rustico’s home lighting displays. “We can’t think of a better way for your family to cap off the evening than taking in the splendour of the lights.”
The two were last seen making Island audiences laugh and smile as L.M.’s quintessential kindred spirits in Anne & Gilbert. “The summer season was so easy-going, fun, and full of chemistry”, says Griffin. “It only seems natural for us to continue collaborating through the winter because, let’s face it… we’re hilarious together.” Joining them for LIGHT is fellow A&G cast-mate and musical director, Aaron Crane.
Neither Griffin nor Parent is new to the Watermark Theatre. Parent was a company member for 6 seasons, while Griffin performed children’s theatre there over two summers with her company, Cat’s Pajamas Theatre Company.
Tickets are $20, all fees included, and sold at the door. There will be free cookies and cider, as well as a cash bar. Watermark Theatre is located at 57 Churchill Ave in North Rustico, PE.
Becca Griffin and Rebecca Parent are Island-based theatre arts professionals. In LIGHT, they combine their talents as well as their personal artistic intentions: bringing together families and involving communities through the performing arts.
Hello,
Just wanted to point out that the dates are listed differently in two places in this article. The correct dates are the 14 and 15 of December.
